About the role

We are continuing to grow and are looking for an Application Support and enhancement team member to join our Adelaide based team. We are interested to hear from passionate and highly motivated individuals willing to become an integral part of our highly skilled applications support and enhancements team.

Role responsibilities:

• Design, Develop and Test new interfaces as part of an existing integration solution.
• Provide maintenance and support services for the existing integration solution.
• Support and maintain applications on Windows and Linux/Unix environments.
• Good understanding of a variety of programming/scripting languages.
• Good understanding of ITIL framework for Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management in an operational support environment.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple customers, internal/external teams and vendors.
• Perform Software Configuration Management and maintain/improvise documentation.
• Able to participate in the application team’s 24×7 ‘On-call’ support roster by rotational basis.
• Effective problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• A good team player with strong focus on continuous improvement.

Skills we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science OR Information Technology OR sufficient work history in a similar role.
• Minimum of 5 years of application support experience with at least 2 years in application integration environments.
• Proficiency in using a major Integration Framework. (InterSystems – Ensemble and/or IRIS is highly desirable).
• Experience with RDBMS and proficiency in SQL.
• Experience in supporting applications on Windows and Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience in working with a variety of programming/scripting languages.
• Experience with both SOAP and RESTful APIs and familiarity with API tools such as Postman or SoapUI is advantageous.
• Ability to independently triage application and data issues, owning tasks through to resolution and escalating when applicable.
• Good understanding of integration patterns, design principles, and security measures.
• Self-motivated individual with excellent time management capabilities.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Good to have (desirable but not essential):

• Understanding of Azure/AWS environments.
• Experience with reporting and/or data analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI).
• Understanding of Energy Market (AEMO) operations.
